RimWorld has one of the most dedicated modding communities on the Steam Platform, whose dedication has made dozens of awesome mods possible. In fact, there are so many mods on RimWorld's workshop page some players feel lost in the sea of mods. Luckily we at PGG put together a list of some of the best mods out there. That said, here are 15 essential Rim World mods and why you should download them:

With Stabilize Here downloaded, you can use the mod's new command to stop bleeding or any life-threatening injuries on the spot. After using the command to stop bleeding/life-threatening injuries, you can move wounded characters later safely. However, using the Stabilize command will not use medicine and is poor quality healing. Because of this, you should lug your wounded Pawn back to a medical bed after using the Stabilize command.
If you ever wanted to start a calvary division or ride mounts in RimWorld, Giddy-up! has you covered. In short, Giddy-up! is a mod series that makes it so your Pawns in the game can rid various animals around the map. Pawns can also fight and transport resources while mounted, making the mod even more useful to squeeze a little more efficiently out of your Pawns. At the time of writing, Giddy-up!'s full series of mods allows players to turn any large animal into a mount and even Mechanoids.
Blight in RimWorld will usually ruin your crops if you let it spread, luckily, Auto-cut Blight will make it so your pawns will automatically remove blight from crops as soon as it appears. To make this mod work in your game, download it and open the work menu. Under the work menu, increase any Pawn with skills in Plant cut to the highest level. Doing so will make it the mod and cause Pawns to treat Blight like fire where they drop everything to deal with it.
We recommend checking out the Vanilla Expanded series of mods if you are looking for more items, weapons, furniture, animals, or even more factions. In short, the series encompasses over 84 mods that expand various mechanics or add new features to the game. Every mod is also of the highest quality, so if you want mods that add new things, Vanilla Expanded is your best option. That being said, here's a full list of everything the Vanlia Expanded series has to offer:
Misc Robots is a fun little mod that tackles an age-old problem in RimWorld: Pawns won't clean or haul things. The mod solves the problem by allowing users to make various little robots whose sole job is picking up things and putting them down in other locations, preferably in your storerooms. We recommend downloading this mod if you don't want to wait to use the Mechanitor part of the Biotech DLC or just want extra ways to clean your base and haul resources.
Overall, modding RimWorld is an easy task for the most part. If you want to download and install Steam workshop mods for the game, you must subscribe and then activate the mod using the Mod menu in-game. However, to install manual mods, you must open and extract the mod into the game's Mod folder. You can find the game's mod folder inside its Steam app folder.
Below are the download links to any downloads I mention in my guides. Occasionally these hosting for these may change. You do not need an account to download anything regardless what the page initially says.
There are plenty of Rimworld mods out there to add extras and quality of life tweaks to your playthroughs. Some of them are basic improvements that let you organise your colony better or become more efficient, some add brand new mechanics like hygiene and children, and there are a few that completely transform the game by adding magic or space exploration.
The vast majority of Rimworld mods are available from the Steam Workshop, so they can be added to your game with the simple click of a button. However, several of the more complicated mods require you to install Harmony and occasionally Hugslib, which are both libraries that provide functionality to your mods.
Some of these mods will allow you to continue playing pre-existing saves, but most recommend you start a new file. At the time of writing, every mod on the list should be compatible with the latest 1.3 update. Keep an eye out for mods that require the Royalty or Ideology expansion as well.

RimWorld is a huge and complex game, and things only start to get even more interesting when you delve into the hundreds of mods available on the Steam Workshop. Experienced players might have a mod-list for RimWorld that spirals into the several dozen, but for the purpose of this list, we've selected the best RimWorld mods, all available on the Workshop. Some of these mods change up the gameplay completely, but the core brutality of RimWorld still remains.
HugsLib is right up there with the most subscribed mods in RimWorld history, and that's because it essentially acts as a database that allows for multiple mods to run simultaneously. Many, many mods for RimWorld will require you to have HugsLib installed just to be able to run.
Before you head on a mission to download hundreds of mods for the game, make sure to pick up HugsLib before you get started. The platform has been updated for the 1.3 update and many mods are currently supported via the Library.
This is not a single mod, but rather a collection of awesome mods that transform the vanilla RimWorld experience, without changing the mechanics too much. Vanilla Expanded adds new types of furniture, fresh textures, new colonist roles, and much, much more. If you love the brilliant mechanics of a simulation game, this mod doesn't interfere too much.
One of the best things about Vanilla Expanded is that you can chop and change which mods you want to use. Everything can be toggled on or off via the mod menu. Want more interesting farms? How about unique weapons? Then, this mod is the one for you.

This wikiHow will teach you how to uninstall mods from the Steam workshop by first unsubscribing to the addon and then manually deleting files. If you don't unsubscribe from an addon first, Steam will download and install the addon again when you open it again.

RimWorld is a 2D single player game by Ludeon Studios that launched in October 2018. It's available on Steam for Windows, Linux, and Mac (OS X). Although single player, there are multiplayer mods that allow you to play on RimWorld with friends.
This guide has been partially updated as of Aug 2022. At this point the Rimpy server probably has a better idea of what newer mods tend to do in various places, but I'm going to leave this up for people who want to play on older versions of the base game, or find that it produces better results.
If you have not done so recently, I highly recommend that if you use Steam to run Rimworld, that you go into your library, right click Rimworld, Properties, Local Files, Verify File Integrity or whatever it's called. This makes sure everything downloaded properly and tends to solve a lot of issues pretty much instantly.
Note that Vanilla Expanded is a set of mods that tend to follow their own rules to some degree, for instance Van. Faction Exp. wants to go below the sets item mods if you want the factions to use said items.
CE is a compatibility mess that can more than double your modlist based on patches for mods, and then patches for those patches, alone. It's a cool idea, I just wish it's execution was better. Or at least less destructive. If you want to use it cool, but I highly recommend building the rest of your modlist first and adding CE and it's patches at the end of the process.
CE now houses a ton of patches internally for many mods, due to the hard work of the latest team to take it on. ....I'd still prefer it not need to do that in the first place, but it would require a rewrite of most of the code, so the workaround is at least nice. 2ff7e9595c
